Evoke Magick is about using reiki to experience deep relaxation, reduce stress, manifest dreams and step into the best versions of ourselves that we can be. Reiki energy healing treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit. It is gentle, subtle and safe. It transcends space and time and therefore can be done in person or from a distance. The “magick” is within us all.
Reiki was developed in Japan in the 19th century by Dr. Mikao Usui as a vehicle for self-development (enlightenment). Due to it’s ability to balance well-being on all levels, it was then developed into a healing modality. There are many different lineages of Reiki. Koko has been attuned to Usui Reiki Ryoho and aims to maintain a practice that respects the roots that Mikao Usui laid down.

FAQ’s
Can my session take place in my home?
Currently I do not offer mobile reiki. All sessions are via distance or at my studio space in Vancouver.
I can’t find a session to book that suits my schedule. How can I see you?
Please email evokemagick@gmail.com to request a time that suits you. I will do my best to accommodate if possible.
Are distance reiki sessions as strong as in-person reiki sessions?
Yes, reiki transcends space and time so there is no need to be physically present for the session. Some people prefer the experience of coming to a studio to relax for an hour whereas if you are not located nearby or are more comfortable at home, distance sessions are just as beneficial as in person session.
How do distance reiki sessions work?
You will schedule your appointment and we will connect on Zoom at the scheduled time. You will then lie down somewhere comfortable and quiet for the duration of the session (45-50 minutes). We will then go over your session notes via Zoom for the remainder of the session and I will pull an oracle card for you.
Alternatively, you may schedule your reiki to be received at a specific time. The reiki will be done at Koko’s convenience and sent to you at the time you wish. This can be useful during a big exam or presentation, as you undergo surgery, etc. Please book this type of session by emailing your requested time to evokemagick@gmail.com
What does reiki feel like?
When receiving reiki, you may feel:
temperature sensations in different areas of the body (hot or cold)
colourful visuals in your mind
tingling
a need to deeply sigh or yawn
a sense of peace or calm
acute awareness of certain parts of the body being “worked” on
sleepiness - it is common to fall asleep, or drift between asleep and awake
you may not feel it at all
Are there any possible adverse effects?
Reiki is subtle and safe. Having said that, some people may experience intense fatigue after a session. If this occurs, I encourage you to drink lots of water and rest as needed. Reiki energy continues to integrate after your session.
